Visiting Cobb Hill
Thank you for your interest in learning more about our home! Please note that only some parts of our land and farm are open to the public.
Please see trail and farm stand info below.
Visiting beyond the public spaces requires previous arrangement and a host.
As our schedules allow, we offer both membership-related visits/tours and non-membership.
The preferred and best time to set up a visit is on our monthly work day. This is not an open house, but rather an internal time we’ve set aside to complete projects together. We invite and host visitors on this day as we’re able. Work days allow you to meet lots of people who live here, have deep conversations, see the kinds of work we do together, ask your burning questions, potentially share a meal, and take a tour. These take place from 9:00 to 12:30 on a Saturday (generally the third or fourth Saturday of the month). Please inquire if you’d like to arrange for a future date.
Start by filling out our general inquiry form to tell us a little about yourself and your desire to visit:
Non-Membership Interest: tours & visits for general information not related to a home sale, rental, or possible future membership. Perhaps you’re interested in our systems or green buildings, would like to ask about bringing a class on a field trip, etc. (click the button below).
Visiting with a lens for potential future membership: perhaps there is a unit for sale at the moment and perhaps not. Get a sense if Cobb Hill is what you’re looking for and is something you’d like to consider for the future (click the button below).
Please wait to hear back from us before any visit (on work days or otherwise) to ensure we can host you and to arrange details.
Visits and tours outside of a work day are possible only as our busy schedules allow and we ask for a $25 donation per group.
Please note that the person currently fielding inquiries tends to respond in batches as a task during our next work day, so pardon any delays in getting back to you as we balance outreach with our busy lives. We apologize if we don’t respond in time for your desired visit date; we’ve had a lot of interest lately. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.
Trails & Farm Stand:
Trails on our property are open to the public year-round as part of the Upper Valley Land Trust (click for more info & map) and Hartland Winter Trails (groomed for cross country skiing). You can also visit our farm stand, which is usually open to the public dawn to dusk. Please park near the barns at the entrance. We ask that visitors respect the privacy around our homes when enjoying our trails or shopping for farm products.
